7-Up Strawberry Pie

makes: one pie

Warning: Use caution whenever you work with boiling sugar!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 c. 7-Up soft drink

1 1/4 c. sugar

4 tbsp. cornstarch

2 c. sliced, fresh strawberries

1 box strawberry Jello

1 baked 9" pie crust

Whipped cream or Cool Whip

Step 1. Combine 7-Up, sugar, cornstarch and Jello in a 3 quart saucepan.

Step 2. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thickened.

Step 3. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.

Step 4. Arrange strawberries in the pie crust.

Step 5. Pour Jello mixture over strawberries.

Step 6. Refrigerate until gelled.

Step 7. Garnish with whipped cream or topping.
